Accommodations for Disabilities
The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requires federal buildings to be in compliance with wheelchair standards and to be accommodating to those that have specific needs. Some of these needs include:
- Designated parking spaces for those with disabilities
- Wheelchair ramps
- Equipment for the hearing impaired when requested
- Restroom access for those with disabilities
Pima County - to make a specific request, you must meet the following requirements
Interpreters
Everyday people that are deaf or hard of hearing have to go to court or meet with court officials. These individuals have access to resources as part of the court's ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) compliance standards. With advanced notice, the individual can get sound amplifiers in the court/meeting room or an ASL interpreter, a week's notice is recommended. To make a request call:

Limited English Language Persons (LEP)
Those that have a limited English language ability are able to request an interpreter for all administrative matters, hearings, trials, and motions. Depending on the situation and the assistance asked for, the individual may have an in-person interpreter or one that is video conferenced in. If they are on a video remote system, all documents and a case summary are sent to them prior to the hearing. For Spanish language speakers, a one week notice is recommended. For any other language, a minimum notice of two weeks is preferred.
